Rabat, 25 Oct-(ANA)-Thirteenpeople have been killed in northern Morocco after their homes collapsed inflash flooding, the interior ministry has disclosed saying 11 were swept away by thefloods in Driouch, Nador province, and two in Tangiers.
Around 20 homes have collapsedas a result of the floods caused by torrential rains and many remain submerged.
Officials in Nador say therains were the heaviest in the area for more than 20 years.
"The deaths are due toheavy flooding in the wadi of Guerti which swept away 11 people, including achild of two," a spokesman for the local authority in Nador told AFP newsagency.
The interior ministry saidrescue teams, including the Moroccoarmy, have been dispatched to the area. (ANA)
