South Africa ready to supplyuranium to India

New Delhi, 17 Oct-(ANA)-South Africahas expressed readiness to supply uranium to India after the Nuclear SuppliersGroup adjusted its guidelines to enable New Delhis participation ininternational nuclear trade.

"We have absolutely no difficulty or objections to selling uranium toIndia ... that we will do without any difficulty," South African PresidentKgalema Motlanthe told reporters after a summit meeting with Prime MinisterManmohan Singh and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

The leaders welcomed the consensus decision of the IAEA Board of Governors toapprove the India-specific Safeguards Agreement and the decision by the NuclearSuppliers Group to adjust its guidelines to enable full civil nuclearcooperation between Indiaand the international community, said the Delhi Declaration adopted after theIBSA summit.
